Nareszcie coś znalazłam na temat tego obozu.Pochodzę z Poręby znam to z opowiadania mojej mamy,która się urodziła w Porębie, i wie gdzie był ten oboz.Ja będac młodą osobą pamietam jeszcze gdy były resztki fundamentów,oboż znajdował sie na przeciw dzisiejszego muzeum.Cięszę się,że ktoś o tym pisze,takich rzeczy nie wolno zapominać.

have been involved in research on forced labor camps for Jews in Upper Silesia for several years, and it was in this connection that I came into contact with Edward Haduch. I am very impressed by the efforts that he and his associates have made to investigate what happened during the Holocaust in their immediate environment. The railroad station at Cosel, the large Blechhammer camp, and other nearby camps are linked to the fates of thousands of Jews from all over Europe. It is encouraging to learn that their suffering has been commemorated by exhibitions and lectures arranged by Edward Haduch and his group. I was born in Germany in 1937 and I feel honored to be working with Polish friends towards a deeper understanding of those terrible years. And as we are doing this, I believe we are also contributing towards the long healing process still occurring throughout Europe.

While being incarcerated in Blechammer (in 1942) and in the other four camps, I had two dreams; one to be reunited with my family, which tragically did not materialize. The other dream was to be able to eat as much bread as I wanted, to sleep on a mattress, to be able to walk freely, to worship at liberty, to associate at will, and to regain my human rights. However, I have never dreamt that one day I shall be free and have my life story shared with the people of Poland, my land of birth. I feel privileged to have made contact with the admirable Edward Haduch. I have the highest regard for his compassionate soul and for his understanding how important it is to perpetuate the Holocaust legacy. May he be rewarded for all his efforts in this endeavor.
When I was a little kid, Poland had largest Jewish community in Europe. Today it has the largest European graveyard of Jews, as well as Poles, victims of Nazi Germany. It is indeed imperative, for conventional and future generations, to commemorate the Holocaust, and make a vow that no genocide will ever, and wherever, happens again.

Będąc więźniem obozu Blechhammer (w 1942 roku) a później 4 innych obozów miałem dwa marzenia; pierwsze, by ponownie połączyć się z mą rodziną, co w tragiczny sposób nigdy się nie ziściło. Drugim mym marzeniem było, bym mógł zjeść tyle chleba ile bym chciał, spać na materacu, chodzić tam, gdzie bym chciał, by wolno mi było chwalić (Boga), spotykać się z innymi ludźmi według mej woli i bym odzyskał swe prawa jako człowiek. Jednakże nigdy nie marzyłem, że będę pewnego dnia wolny i będę mógł dzielić się historią mego życia z ludźmi w Polsce – kraju mego urodzenia. Gdy byłem małym dzieckiem Polska miała największą żydowską społeczność w Europie. Dzisiaj jest największym europejskim cmentarzyskiem zarówno Żydów, jak i Polaków – ofiar nazistowskich Niemiec. Jest rzeczą niezwykle istotną oraz niezbędną dla obecnych i przyszłych pokoleń by czcić pamięć ofiar Holokaustu i uczynić przyrzeczenie, by żadne ludobójstwo już nigdy i nigdzie się nie wydarzyło.

The dark history of this corner of the war has long been ignored, or minimized. It is a true service to the memory of its victims that this website has come into being. The story of Blechhammer is the story of the Nazi Forced Labor program, which also became known as "extermination through work". But it is also the story of human resilience, and the will to survive.
